Context

We have been working with Sullivan’s Brewing Company since before their launch, creating their purpose and positioning through to their latest innovation Tri-Capital Stout Innovation in Collaboration with Dunville’s Whiskey and the Temple Bar.


Sullivan’s is brewed by local experts, by hand, in small batches, with enormous heart and the finest locally sourced ingredients.

The brand ethos of Sullivan’s Brewing Company is inextricably linked to having been first established in Kilkenny city in 1702.



What We Did

People want better tasting and progressive Irish beers and whiskeys rooted in the stories and traditions of community, who we are and where we come from.


Many collaboration innovations are not clear on meaning, we wanted this one to lead and be inspired by authentic and purposeful connections .

To this end, Sullivan’s created a hand crafted limited edition batch of barrel aged Imperial Stout brewed in collaboration with Dunville’s Whiskey of Belfast and The Temple Bar of Dublin.


We designed a concept that strategically linked the three collaborators namely the Revival & Progression of brewing, distilling & blending in the 3 historic capitals of Ireland, Kilkenny, Dublin and Belfast.


Built on traditional styles of stouts and porters historically brewed in the 3 capitals, Sullivan’s created a stronger, bolder and more flavourful Imperial Stout brewed with extra malts and hops. This limited batch was barrel aged to produce a fuller body and multi layered flavour that reveals notes of oak, vanilla, coconut , malt, chocolate and coffee.


Why? Because as we said at the beginning when we wrote the brand purpose with the team, “brewing is in our blood”.



Results

The collaboration brew was successfully launched further enhancing Sullivan’s brewing credentials, commercial reach while building the purpose and equity of all 3 collaboration partners.
